ABOUT ENGINEERING AT ROCKET LAB:

Engineering is at the heart of Rocket Lab.

Our engineering team has a proven track record of designing and developing world-class rockets and spacecraft that are changing the way we access and use space.

You'll work alongside driven, talented engineers from varied backgrounds and experience levels, all committed to the same mission. Our engineering team members span design, analysis, prototyping, testing, manufacturing, assembly and integration, quality control, engineering documentation, and more.

WHAT YOU'LL GET TO DO:


As an Instrumentation and Control Engineer, you will maintain and build control systems that enable Rocket Lab Ground Systems to build world class facilities, to launch and test our Electron and Neutron Launch vehicles faster than they are produced.

Your skill will aid both operational and design functions.

You are part of a team that continuously improves sites and requires you to take ownership of projects.

The team will give you a unique opportunity to grow your skills (trained by experts), drive your career and collaborate on bigger projects.

You will make a difference when it comes to delivering projects on time, and enable knowledge transfer over generations of engineers.


YOU'LL BRING THESE QUALIFICATIONS:

  • A tertiary degree in mechatronics or in a comparable field
  • Working knowledge of at least two different types of programming languages
  • Proven communication skills, and the ability to build strong working relationships
  • Proficiency in identifying software bugs, and ability to employ creative solutions to combat these bugs
  • Ability to document, formulate, track, and follow engineering instructions and documents
  • Ability to work in a fast paced, self driven environment

THESE QUALIFICATIONS WOULD BE NICE TO HAVE:

  • Experience automating high reliability systems:
  • Structure text by Codesys or Beckhoff
  • Object oriented design
  • Python or C++
  • Gitlab/Git Version Control System knowledge/experience
  • Experience with industrial machinery and equipment
