What we do**The Radiation Oncology Service has a permanent position for an experienced Radiation Therapist who enjoys challenging work and development opportunities.

This is a great opportunity for a career minded Radiation Therapist to work at the top of their scope and work within a positive team culture.


The department currently provides a full range of radiation therapy services including VMAT, DCAT, SABR(lung), Stereotactic techniques, deep inspiration breath hold and the full spectrum of IGRT modalities.

Development and expansion into other sites using IMRT/SBRT techniques is ongoing.

We have a strong departmental culture with a focus on providing excellence in patient care.

We are proud of our quality achievements and have a Research and Development Steering Group who oversee our in-house research and ongoing development across the multi-disciplinary team.

Radiation Therapists play an active part in making effective change and are encouraged to put their ideas into action.

_ The Role:
_ Where you fit in**In this role, you will be responsible for:
  • Technical complex planning and review
  • Training of staff and students
  • Protocol updates
  • Technique development
  • Stepping into the Dosimetry Supervisor role as required

Your skills will include:

  • Strong communication skills and the ability to function at a high level with the MDT;
  • Proven ability to plan and critique a range of complex sites with mínimal support;
  • Display ownership of tasks, exercising initiative;
  • Display sound problem solving skills;
  • Project involvement within the department;
  • A minimum of five years postqualification clinical experience with a broad overview of all areas within the Radiation Therapy Department;
  • You must be eligible for registration as a radiation therapist by the Medical Radiation Technologists Board of New Zealand.
