You will support Information Domain projects and programmes within Capability Branch, through the provision of high quality financial management and advice.

Your work will directly support the Information Domain Director to define and then deliver high-technology military capabilities.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Maintaining accurate financial records using Defence Force financial management tools;
  • Coordinating budget builds and monitoring monthly spend of all Information Domain budgets;
  • Analysing the Information Domain's financial status and making recommendations based on findings;
  • Assisting programme / project managers with developing finance related project artefacts and reports;
  • Assisting programme and project managers to develop Whole of Life Cost models for the throughlife sustainment of military capabilities; and
  • Building and maintaining effective working relationships with Capability Branch, Finance Branch and Ministry of Defence staff members.

You will be confident at engaging with and informing stakeholders of complex financial information in a clear, concise and easy to understand manner.


Ideally, you will have:

  • Practical working experience in an accounting, finance or business role, ideally within a large organisation, and preferably a public sector organisation;
  • Good quantitative and qualitative analytical skills;
  • Good research and financial problemsolving and decisionmaking skills;
  • An intermediateexpert level ability to use Microsoft Excel; and
  • Effective interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment, as well as influence upwards.

You will be part of the Capability Branch team responsible for defining and delivering New Zealand's future information warfare capabilities.
