Accommodation is therefore managed by a professional staff whose key purpose is to ensure the pastoral care of residents and to support their academic efforts.

Job Description Te Whiwhinga mahi | The opportunity**Due to the expansion of the Accommodation team to incorporate a new night team structure, we are looking to recruit **4x
Night Supervisors** into our residences.


The Night Supervisor supports the evening management of accommodation across residences within the University focusing on high quality health, safety, wellbeing and security support while delivering good administration support.


This is a client-facing role and point of contact for all administrative and facility coordination of the accommodation, attending to residents during the night and upholding community standards.

Health, safety and security leadership is critical to this role by ensuring safety and emergency protocols and procedures, responding to crisis situations and providing first aid treatment if needed.

In support of the Resident Manager & Night Manager, this role will assist in looking after student welfare and providing advice to residents in achieving success in their studies with high degree of respect for privacy and confidentiality.

This is an
overnight, part-time (an average of 75 hours per fortnight),
permanent position. Shifts are rostered to alternate on a weekly basis, including one weekend shift rostered per week.

Two of the four available positions will be based at 55 Symonds Street.
Two of the four available positions will be based at Te Tirohanga o te Tōangaroa, on Anzac Avenue.

The remuneration is $63,900, pro rata for part time hours.

Qualifications He kōrero mōu | About you**- Preference will be given to those with First Aid Certificate and full, clean NZ driver's licence. Minimum of Level 2 Certificate in Security (NZQA recognised) and Certificate of Approval are optional requirements to this role.

  • With knowledge and basic understanding of the security systems, CRM and databases and Building Health & Safety compliance
  • Good public relations and communication skills
  • Basic computer knowledge, including software such as Microsoft teams, outlook, and SharePoint (training will be provided).
  • Physically fit
