About the role:


Local councils, NZTA and Government have been investing in the transport network across Greater Christchurch as part of the regenerating the area.

New cycle ways, bus lanes and other network improvements are providing more varied travel choices.


The Community Travel Advisor contributes to the delivery of these exciting initiatives by developing and delivering education/behaviour change programmes and promotions that that encourage active travel, road safety, and travel choices.

Day to day, this can involve working within our businesses, community, schools, or other organisations as well as planning and setting up education programmes and events.


About you:


Using your sound analytical and decision-making skills, you will provide expert advice and be confident making fast and effective decisions based on consideration of available facts.

You will propose and implement alternatives where necessary.

You are a team player adopting a collaborative approach, always looking at lessons learnt and towards continuous improvement while working in a high performing team who support each other.

You will have a passion for increasing transport choices for a safer, green, liveable city.

Additionally to the above, you will have:

  • Tertiary to Bachelor level qualification in education, transport, a behavioural science or a related field.
  • A full drivers licence
  • At least 5 years of experience working in community coordination/advisory processes and project management practices.
  • A strong customer focus to identify and address customer needs, along with effective relationship management skills

Salary - _The salary band for this position goes from $93,200 to $103,556 per annum based on a 40 hour working week.
