Te whiwhinga mahi | The Opportunity

The Immunology Department of LabPLUS at Auckland City Hospital is the reference laboratory for the Northern Region and provides tertiary services to a wider area.

The department offers a comprehensive diagnostic immunology service with sections for flow cytometry, allergy, autoimmunity, and molecular immunology. Protein chemistry is a joint service with Chemical Pathology.
There is currently a vacancy for a part time Immunopathologist (0.4 FTE).

This is a new position to provide general immunology support for the service as well as develop special interests and support service development.

The appointee will provide advice and guidance to the Clinical Head and staff in this section.

The appointee will be responsible to the Clinical Head of the Immunology section and communicate with them on a regular basis.

It is a requirement for this position that the appointee's time will be negotiated with the other Immunopathologists to provide continuous rostered cover through the week for the service.

Nga Pūkenga Motuhake | Important Skills

You will have:

A Medical degree registerable with the New Zealand Medical Council
AND a post graduate specialisation in Immunopathology with Fellowship to the RCPA (or equivalent)
