Kōrero mō te tūranga - About the role
We are seeking a highly motivated clinician to join the Adult Sector Leadership Team.

You must be able to work autonomously whilst having an awareness of the service wide needs bringing a collaborative approach to the teams and other partner providers.

This is an exciting opportunity to work with innovative, client focused, forward thinking and supportive teams across community settings.


We are looking for a mental health nurse who is passionate about the clients and families we support and the communities they live in.

The role includes education and support for our teams and an ability to work with complex client.


You will be working across 4 teams who are passionate and committed to enhancing possibilities and opportunities for their clients.

By utilising your advanced knowledge and clinical skills in collaboration with nursing and medical staff, the multidisciplinary team and other external agencies you will contribute to the development and maintenance of high quality evidenced based specialist care.


Moū - About you

  • To promote comprehensive clinical care and nursing expertise for the 3 community teams for clients with complex mental health conditions
  • To ensure continuity of care and best practices standards are applied
  • To provide expertise and speciality advice as required throughout the organisation
  • To contribute to the multidisciplinary team (MDT) with the aim of identifying and improving nursing practices for better patient outcome and care
  • To support change implementation and advocate for the organisation s strategic direction
  • To provide nursing leadership across clinical environments to identify and support practice improvements
  • To facilitate education and training to enhance clinical capability in the care of clients with complex mental health needs

Mō tō mātou rōpū - About our team


Adult CMH and Addictions teams fully embrace the principles of Recovery in mental health and recognise the importance of providing holistic care that is accessible; delivered in a timely manner and engages people in improving their healthcare outcomes.


Our community mental health teams work with clients in the community setting, who may require ongoing treatment, or support with transitioning from an inpatient setting.

As well as providing direct treatment, community mental health teams can provide specialist support and advice to GPs to enable them to best help clients with any mental health needs now or may have in the future.


Our teams provide support with:
- medication prescribing and monitoring
- group work - e.g. anxiety management, dialectical behavioural therapy (DBT), bipolar education group, 'leap into work'
- relaxation
- individual therapy - e.g. CBT, schema therapy, mindfulness work
- recovery focused work with care managers
- relapse prevention planning
- support, care and treatment during acute episodes of unwellness.
