At Te Tāhuhu o te Mātauranga | Ministry of Education, we work to provide services and support nationally, regionally and locally to the education sector, and in some cases, directly to ākonga and whānau.

We help shape the policies, settings and performance of the education system for early learning, schooling and tertiary. We do this by building relationships and understanding the needs of those who receive our services.

About our group and team
Te Mahau Te Tai Whenua is the key interface between Te Mahau | Ministry of Education and education providers.

It is our role to ensure that sector leaders and the communities in which they operate have access to the expertise, programmes and resources that will allow our children and young people to reach their full potential.


We give effect to government and ministry policy and support education and community leadership within a self-managing system, to bring about the positive changes required to lift aspiration and raise educational achievement for all.


Mō tēnei tūranga | About this role


The PB4L Advisor supports the delivery and assessment of the PB4L initiatives and programmes in accordance with the regional Learning Support services plan.

This includes organising and co‐ordinating courses to be delivered by accredited facilitators and working with providers.

The PB4L Advisor also uses and interprets data to inform decision-making to increase the effectiveness of our practices and provide a connection between PB4L and wider Learning Support services to enable joined up service delivery.

To be successful you will need:

  • relevant tertiary qualification or significant relevant experience
- strong presentation and influencing skills to facilitate group sessions
- demonstrated ability to work collaboratively to support the work of the team
- demonstrated ability to build strong working relationships and effective networks with key internal and external stakeholders
- experience in the implementation of frameworks and leading changes to practice across organisations that support capability building
- strong written and verbal communication skills
- excellent attention to detail and time management
- experience in event and project management are an advantage.
