Te Whatu Ora Waitemata serves the communities of North and West Auckland and the Rodney District, a population of over 600,000 people.

Dedicated to the delivery of public health care, Waitemata is committed to "best care for everyone" - to the patient, their family/Whanau, the community and Iwi, and the healthcare workforce.

Waiatarau is a mental health inpatient unit located on the grounds of Waitakere Hospital. The unit as a whole comprises of 8 intensive care beds and 24 open ward beds.
Are you experienced and enthusiastic about mental health care for adults? Do you have a passion for working with a diverse and dynamic group of nursing, allied health staff and medical staff? Is management and leadership where you want to be?

You will have a passion for and dedication to adult mental health care, a contemporary and evidence based approach to clinical and professional nursing practice, and exemplary leadership skills and knowledge.

You will be a positive nursing identity and an advocate for the multi-disciplinary team approach to mental health care.

You will be skilled at managing working partnerships and committed to a collaborative and comprehensive approach to adult mental health care.

You will be committed to professional development and progression for your team.

We'd expect you to have a Post Graduate certificate/diploma in Mental Health nursing, including papers in Leadership, a minimum of 5 years post registration nursing practice in Mental Health nursing and a current, proficient/expert level portfolio.
