Parks & Community Facilities (PCF) is dedicated to making great places Aucklanders love while supporting a number of related services such as asset management and renewals of existing structures and open areas.

Committed to a lifecycle approach to asset management, we work to build, maintain and renew our world class community buildings and public spaces including parks, walkways, libraries and leisure centres.

As kaitiaki (guardian) of Auckland Council facilities, we play a vital role in promoting the wellbeing of our communities while also delivering strategically significant programmes.

We have an opportunity for a Landscape Architect to join us.

As part of the Design Team in Parks & Community Facilities, you'll be allocated a range of open space design services across the Auckland region.

As this Unit acts as an internal landscape design service to all the areas and local boards of Auckland, you will be responsible for preparing 'design services scopes and time frames' based on the project scope and outcome provided by the business.

You'll have a strong design sense, understand constructability and the ability to share and 'illustrate' such knowledge.

These outcomes point to a person being approachable and having the ability to provide the 'right' design and site 'fit'.

The Parks & Community Facilities asset portfolio is wide and vast, and will require a wide knowledge of asset types, their functioning, key operational and design opportunities and challenges.

You'll be able to work autonomously, demonstrate initiative and have a 'natural sense' of creating design outcomes which can be inspirational, attractive, inviting and safe.
