About the role

A resort-style village near stunning Mount Maunganui Beach it has been fondly described as 'a tropical playground' set on 21 acres of lush grounds and framed with palm trees. With scenic vistas and handy access to local shops and cafés, life at Bayswater is like a holiday every day and we want YOU to join us Our Bayswater Retirement Village is looking to bring on board an experienced Social Coordinator to support our residents with their planned activities to maintain active lives and support their wellbeing This role is a permanent, part-time role working 20 hours a week. This is an exciting role with the opportunity to make a real difference in our residents' daily lives

Some of the great things you will be doing:

  • Organising special events and outings for our resident's.
  • Driving our Village bus and escorting residents on excursions.
  • Engaging with our residents and family members.
  • Delivering group activities for our serviced apartment residents that engage, provide social interaction and give a sense of belonging.
  • Connecting with community groups and supporting existing village run activities.

About you
We are looking for a sociable, outgoing, creative thinker who can organize great events for our residents. This is a fun role and rewarding as you will bring great joy to our residents.

Other things that will make you a great Social Coordinator:

  • Full and clean Driver's License to drive our village van
  • Current First Aid certificate preferable however we can put you through training
  • Ideally you will have experience working in a similar role in Aged Care
  • You will need to be an excellent people person who enjoys working with the older adult, with an ability to maximize resident participation in activities.
  • Great communication skills
