About the role


As a Health Care Assistant, you will be responsible for providing care and support to our residents to deliver a safe, secure and supportive environment in which we encourage our residents to maintain their independence and to make decisions for themselves.


Your key responsibilities will be:

  • Deliver the highest standard of personal cares to every Resident
  • Support elders to have autonomy by doing as much as possible for themselves in a way each elder chooses.
  • Assist and support the daily activities in a way that meets the Eden principles and the Domains of Wellbeing
  • Take instruction and delegation under the direction of the Registered Nurse.

Skills and Experience


As well as a passion for the wellbeing of older people, you will be enthusiastic but patient and well organised with great interpersonal skills and sense of humour.

In addition, you will have:

  • Ability to communicate with and respect the diverse cultural heritage of each individual, whether Resident or staff member
  • Min Careerforce Level 2 Health and Wellbeing Certificate is preferable
  • Good written and documentation skills
  • Basic computer skills
  • Proof of COVID19 vaccination, (please note this includes evidence of mandated boosters for eligible health and disability staff)
About Us


Enliven is a not-for-profit service providing aged residential care to older people in the lower half of the North Island.

We believe older people should remain connected to their community and live stimulating and fulfilling lives.

The Bureau operates as Enliven's internal 'casual pool'.

Our homes require staff 24/7, so you can expect to be offered morning, afternoon, and night shifts all days of the week, including weekends.


The Bureau services our Wellington homes - Woburn Home, in Lower Hutt; Cashmere and Cashmere Heights in Johnsonville, Longview home in Tawa; and Huntleigh home in Karori.
