Te Whiwhinga mahi | The opportunity


This role sits in AT's Customer & Network performance division, which maintains a high performing, mínimal disruption road transport network that supports all customer access and movement and delivers outstanding customer experience through our customer service support functions
.


As a Road Corridor Inspector you will monitor the activities of utility providers and others working in the road corridor, ensuring compliance with the conditions of their work permits in the South and Central Auckland.


The work includes monitoring and auditing of sites to ensure our roading asset is maintained, standards are met, and customer impact is minimised.

There is also a high level of customer contact as you will be investigating and responding to customer feedback regarding various works and activities in the road corridor.

  • Be a sound and persuasive communicator written and verbal.
  • Both understand and advocate for safe working practices legislative and common sense based.
  • Make consistent fair, firm and robust decisions that follow and adhere to required standards, rules or policy.
  • Technical credibility and confidence to engage with individuals and groups regarding work permits.
  • Manage conflict and tense situations with tact and diplomacy, using sound conflict management techniques.
  • Possess integrity and a strong moral compass.
  • Be a continuous learner and open to change.
As well as some of the following experience or qualifications:

  • Experience in construction or maintenance of roads (especially sealed).
  • A current STMS L 2/3 NP preferred.
  • A tertiary qualification in engineering or diploma preferred.
  • Supervisory Experience in Engineering infrastructure maintenance or construction.
  • Familiarity with Unitary Plan, CoPTTM, NCoP for Utility Access to Transport Corridors and other relevant standards and legislation.
  • Experience with Utility activities (any of water, sewer, telco, power, gas).
