Mō mātou | About Us

The NZDF Command and Staff College (CSC) mission is to develop leaders for the defence and security challenges of today and tomorrow.

Our vision is to be the NZDF's premier provider of Joint Professional Military Education (JPME).

We provide residential programmes in JPME to selected NZDF and international officers and warrant officers, to support their transition to senior command, leadership and management roles.

Officials from other NZ government agencies also attend CSC courses.

To enable graduates of CSC courses to operate in volatile, uncertain, complex and ambiguous environments, the development of critical thinking and effective communication skills form the basis of CSC courses, which address a wide range of defence, security and strategic issues.

Each year CSC delivers a one-year Advanced Command and Staff Course, a nine-week Joint Warrant Officers Advanced Course, and a six-week Intermediate Command and Staff Course.

Every hour of every day, 365 days of the year, the New Zealand Defence Force is contributing to the defence, security and well-being of Aotearoa / New Zealand.

As a modern, professional military, it is our goal to maintain well-trained, equipped and disciplined armed forces that can react to crisis at short notice.
