We have an opportunity for a Programme Planner - Construction Delivery to join our Capital Projects and Asset Development (CPAD) team.

This role forms part of the central PMO, responsible for the process, standards, and management of integrated management systems for KiwiRail's capital work.


Reporting to the Director - Integrated Planning and Scheduling, you will be responsible for schedule development, planning, monitoring and control activities for various projects, ensuring all significant works are planned, tracked and proactivity monitored.

The role will include consolidation of multiple project plans into a monthly progress report.

The primary role responsibilities include:

  • Develop, manage, and maintain programme schedule(s) in accordance with best practice DCMA14 guidelines.
  • Application of effective planning techniques and controls (cost and schedule variance, estimates at completion, critical path analysis).
  • Carry out the monthly update and baseline control process with the Project Managers, Directors collating information and analysing changes and potential impact.
  • Provide high quality monthly reports.
  • Proactively highlight critical pinch points in the delivery and possible mitigation methodologies.

In addition you will have:

  • Excellent working knowledge of Primavera
  • Strong project planning experience in a similar industry
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication and team working skills
  • Strong working knowledge of standard Microsoft office suite, inparticular Microsoft Project, PWA
