EaseUp is a mobile community-based service that supports rangatahi (aged 12-24 years) who are experiencing challenges with mental health and/or addiction. EaseUp is made up of clinicians and peer support workers who work in partnership with rangatahi and their whānau. The service offers short term and brief interventions with the aim of supporting the young person and their family/whānau early on so they can manage their own wellbeing. EaseUp is the largest Youth Primary Mental Health provider and is funded by Te Whatu Ora.

He kōrero mō te tūranga | The Role


You'll have a varied and exciting role leading the EaseUp services which are based on the North Shore, West Auckland, Central Auckland and South Waikato.


You will lead, coach and support a team of 4 Service Managers to ensure continuous service improvement remains at the forefront when delivering high quality youth services.


Managing stakeholder relationships is an essential part of the role, which includes working closely with funders and referrers but also ensuring young people / whānau are actively engaged and participating in the delivery and development of our services.


As the District Manager, you will also ensure the operational, financial, HR and contract management needs of our services are being met.

You'll be confident driving equity initiatives and have the flexibility to change and adapt to new and innovative ways of doing things.

You'll have a passion for supporting young people and feel comfortable working autonomously, as well as part of a wider team.

Ideally you will have a Health, Social Services, Human Services or Management related tertiary qualification or registration.

However, most importantly you will have proven leadership experience (at least 3 years) and a strong understanding of the complexities involved with the delivery of a youth services.


In addition, you will have:

  • Proven experience in leading diverse teams of staff and managing Human Resource issues
  • Passion for developing and leading cohesive and innovative teams
  • Flexibility to travel within your district as required
  • A good understanding of youth services and strong networks across the sector
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills and confidence in IT literacy
