Associate Director for the University's Strategic Programme Office (USPO).

Strategic Programs is part of the Organisational Performance & Improvement (OPI) Service Division, which is responsible for supporting business capability, service design & support, and strategy execution support.

Its responsibilities include implementation and delivery of strategic transformation projects, portfolio management, business case support and benefits management.

Reporting to the Director, Organisational Performance & Improvement, you will oversee strategic and operational management of the Strategic Programmes team which includes skilled Project Managers, specialists in Change, Portfolio Management and Benefits Management.


You will be integral to realising the University's strategy through establishing relationships and becoming a key trusted partner of University leadership.


Some key areas of responsibility include:


  • Leadership
  • leadership of the wider USPO team, including role modelling the University's and OPI's values to create a safe and high-performing environment. This includes driving innovation and excellence in processes, practices, standards and delivery.

Strategy Execution
  • Lead the establishment of strategy execution processes and practices that enable prioritisation agility and a focus on the most important strategic priorities that deliver the greatest value for the University.

Practice Excellence and Innovation
  • Support best practice development across Strategic Programmes and the wider project community. Lead the adoption of agile business practices within the scope of the role, optimising the digital operating model and enabling swift progression from ideation to delivery.

Stakeholder Partnerships
  • Build and maintain effective relationships, engagement and communication with senior leaders, stakeholders, colleagues and teams. Collaborate and influence at all levels to drive process and practice improvement.
