We are looking for an enthusiastic person with this mix of skills to join our Democracy Services and Advice Team.

You will be supporting management for political meetings to ensure core democratic services are provided. This will include preparing and providing general democracy advice on matters arising from political meetings.

We need someone with the ability to liaise with politicians as well as senior management, a cool head under pressure and a flexible attitude - while maintaining confidentiality at all times.

We're looking for a professional with great interpersonal and communication skills, who is organised, demonstrating initiative and good judgement.

You might have experience working in the local government sector or for another governance body, but if you're a fast learner and keen to grow your skills, we'd like to hear from you too.

You'll be interpreting local government legislation on a daily basis, and helping other staff to navigate these processes.

Strong English language skills and a high degree of accuracy is required, as is the ability to get to grips quickly with new IT systems.

This is an exciting role with plenty going on and lots of opportunities to make your mark.

In addition to your technical skill, you will also be a person who is proactive, takes initiative, is able to self-manage and can identify improvement opportunities.
