We are looking for driven and people focused Senior Corrections Officers (SCO) for Rimutaka Prison. People have the capability to bring our Hōkai Rangi strategy to life.

About the role | Mō te tūnga

Day to day, you will be a talented role model and team player who can demonstrate the ability to lead and empower others and to make positive changes in the lives of the people in our care.

You will incorporate our values and effortlessly live and breath them.

In your role as a Senior Corrections Officer, you will lead your team to support and drive our Hōkai Rangi strategy by ensuring the needs of the people in our care are met and contributing to the overall strategy of reducing offending.

Senior Corrections Officer's at Ara Poutama Aotearoa are viewed as leaders within the organisation and this position will allow you to role model your leadership skills.

In this challenging role, you to lead a team of Corrections Officers ranging from CODP's to seasoned Corrections Officers and support their development and growth.

We will guide and mentor for your further development as a future leader.

While your technical skills, knowledge and practice will have been tested in a range of different environments, it's your leadership style and ability to build high performing teams that will be critical to your success in this role.

You will need to be agile with the ability to balance operation, safe environments, and people all at once.
