Our client is a media company with a focus on supporting the revitalisation of Te Ao Maori. They are looking for a new editor to join their Auckland based team.

With 5+ years in a similar role, including a degree in journalism or communications, you will be tasked with operational management, editorial oversight and team leadership.

The right person for this role will be a strong leader and coach, able to inspire your team, from content creation to writing compelling news stories in a manner appropriate to the platform it will be published to.

You will have Critical-thinking and problem-solving capabilities, able to handle pressure calmly with the ability to meet scheduled deadlines, make split-second decisions on content, ensuring ethical standards are always met.

You will have an excellent understanding of brand and audience, able to perform market research and know the target demographics and how best to engage them.

Fluency in Te Reo is not essential, however an interest in learning, along with an understanding of and alignment with Te Ao Maori is.
