Pact is a major provider of community, vocational and residential based intellectual disability, mental health and addictions services across Southland, Otago, West Coast and the Lower North Island.
We are looking for someone with a passion for supporting people with a high and complex needs to lead fulfilling lives in the community.
Since 2017 Pact has worked in partnership with the Department of Corrections to provide primary mental health services to Tangata Whaiora requiring care at Palmerston North Community Corrections, Manawatū Prison, Whanganui Prison, Hawkes Bay Regional Prison and Rimutaka Prison.
Pact is a major provider of community, vocational and residential based intellectual disability, mental health and addictions mental health services across Southland, Otago, West Coast and the Lower North Island.

We are looking for an experienced mental health professional to join our primary mental health team based at Whanganui Prison
- Fulltime Permanent Position
- Monday to Friday, normal business hours
- Join a supportive multidisciplinary mental health team
- Competitive, marketbased remuneration package

- Five weeks of annual leave
- Funded Clinical Supervision with a Supervisor of your choice

The role
- We are seeking an experienced mental health professional to join our Improving Mental Health Team at Whanganui Prison. You will work in a safe environment with a supportive team and access to clinical guidance. You will provide mental health assessment and treatment to Tāngata Whaiora with mild to moderate mental health needs at Whanganui Prison. You will have the autonomy to develop and provide evidencebased therapeutic and cultural interventions that best support the recovery of the people we work with.
- Desired Skills and Experience
- You will be culturally competent and able to provide culturally responsive care.
- You will have excellent holistic mental health assessment skills.
- You will have experience in using evidencebased treatment modalities, or a desire to develop these skills.
- You will have the ability to network and build relationships
- You must be a registered health professional with a current annual practicing certificate.
