This is a chance to get into the early phases of an ambitious project. We are looking for an Aircraft Technician to build, modify and maintain our aircraft.

The role will be a mix of hands-on practical work with our engineers, ensuring that the work on the aircraft is documented and the aircraft is ready for ground/flight tests as required.

The role will require occasional travel within New Zealand to facilitate testing needs.


The role will have the opportunity to influence the design of the aircraft and make a real difference to making our spaceplane project a success.

They will look after our hangar facility ensure that it is fit for purpose.

Can you solve hard engineering problems? Are you driven, organised and able to work with a wide variety of people? Do you have a 'can do' attitude, are you flexible and adaptable, but will stay within appropriate processes and procedures? Then this role could be for you

Requirements:

To be successful in this role you must:

  • have extensive hands on experience with maintaining or modifying aircraft
- be organised, efficient and able to have multiple projects on the go at once
- have strong verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills with both technical and nontechnical audiences
- be proficient in MS Office tools
- be equally at home with your hands on tools or documenting what you have done
- be able to work and coordinate others to reach a goal
- have a full clean driving licence

We would love you to have some of the following;

  • LAME qualification or be working towards it
- worked with composites manufacture
- worked with rocketry
- worked with experimental aircraft

  • Experience with large model aircraft
  • Experience with Solidworks
