Te whiwhinga mahi | The Opportunity

We are inviting applications from Senior Dietitians with a keen interest or experience in working in in community Mental Health. As a Senior Dietitian, you will demonstrate advanced clinical proficiency in your field and possess experience in delivering client-centred care within interdisciplinary team environments.

This role primarily entails clinical responsibilities, complemented by leadership duties for colleagues within the same discipline. You will assume defined portfolio responsibilities and take the lead in clinical education and quality improvement initiatives relevant to your specialty area, as determined by your manager and Professional Leader. Your role will also involve conducting comprehensive assessments and implementing outcome-focused, innovative care strategies, grounded in evidence-based practices, interventions, and education within your specialty area.

This role will be reporting to the Clinical Team Leader of Cornwall House but will work across three of our Community Mental Health centres (Cornwall House, Kainga Tiaki Centre and the Taylor Centre). As a valued member of these mental health teams, you will collaborate closely within a multidisciplinary framework to provide assessment and specialized dietetic treatment to people who present with moderate to severe mental illness. .

Essential skills:

We welcome applications from New Zealand registered dietitian with at least 4 years post graduate experience, who can work independently, hold a current Annual Practising Certificate and full Drivers' License.

You will bring excellent communication and interpersonal skills as well as a strong commitment to a multi-disciplinary team approach, with experience in clinical dietetics.

Ideally, you will have previously worked within Mental Health Sector and have a good understanding of evidenced based dietetic treatments for people with mental illness and how dietetic treatment can enhance treatment and support recovery.
