Mangakōtukutuku College is a new school dedicated to fostering a dynamic and inclusive learning environment. We are seeking a passionate and dedicated science teacher to join our diverse team.

Successful candidates will join a team of inspiring and supportive educators who are committed to supporting young people to be the best that they can be.

Key responsibilities

  • Contribute to the school's commitment to Te Tiriti o Waitangi
  • Develop and deliver engaging programmes of learning in collaboration with the learning area leader, learning facilitators and other teachers.
  • Create a safe and inclusive classroom environment which supports the needs of individual learners and encourages their personal growth in the subject
  • Assess student progress and provide constructive feedback to promote continuous improvement
  • Stay current with trends and best practices within education, showing a willingness to learn.

Qualifications and attributes

  • Familiarity with the science curriculum
  • Understanding of the Review of Achievement Standards and Te Mātaiaho
  • A teaching qualification with a specialisation and/or experience teaching science (please state your specialist area)
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • A commitment to fostering a positive and inclusive learning environment
  • Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage a class in a relational way
  • A passion for mentoring and guiding students
  • Willingness to participate in professional development opportunities related to the science learning area and the wider school priorities.
