Are you a seasoned project management professional with a track record of delivering complex projects on time and within budget? Do you excel in leading cross-functional teams and driving strategic initiatives? If so, we have an exciting opportunity for you to join our team as a Senior Project Manager.

As a Senior Project Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing the planning, execution, and delivery of high-impact projects. You will work closely with stakeholders across the organization to ensure projects align with business objectives and are completed to the highest standards.

The Engineering and Asset Services (E&AS) group has the overall responsibility and ownership for managing KiwiRail's rolling stock assets, including mainline and shunt locomotives, freight and specialist wagons, containers, passenger carriages and other rolling stock vehicles and equipment. Located in Wellington, the Senior Project Manager will scope, organise and monitor progress of the project works, leading them through to their successful completion. This role will be committed to keeping close control of time and money, while driving safety, innovation and improvement. Your prime focus will be the capital production projects at KiwiRail's Mechanical Workshops - Hutt Workshops and Hillside Workshops.

To be successful in this role, you will have:

  • 7+ years of project management delivery and change management experience
  • Formal qualifications in project management, business management, people leadership or relevant discipline
  • Extensive demonstrated knowledge of best practice project management systems and methodologies
  • Knowledge of relevant project and asset management methodologies with understanding of engineering principles and practices
  • Demonstrated ability to analyse, interpret and present complex data in a way that is clear and easy to understand
  • Knowledge and understanding of best practice asset management including ISO55000 & systems including ISO9001 is desirable
