The Starship Paediatric Consult Liaison Team are seeking an experienced Mental Health Clinician to fill a Permanent Part-time 0.7 FTE position providing clinical assessment and therapy to infants, children, adolescents and their families who are under the care of the paediatric Complex Pain Team (0.4 FTE) and the Consult Liaison Team (0.3 FTE) in Starship Children's Hospital.

We have a permanent part-time role available within the Starship Consult Liaison Team and Paediatric Complex Pain Team, to provide high quality mental health assessments and interventions for children and adolescents and their family/whānau attending these two services.


We are a friendly, hard-working and motivated service which provides mental health assessments and interventions for children; adolescents and their whānau (family) attending Starship inpatient and outpatient services.


Nga Pūkenga Motuhake | Important Skills
As a qualified Infant/Child/Adolescent Mental Health Clinician, this role will;

  • Suit a Mental Health Nurse, a Clinical Psychologist, Psychotherapist, Occupational Therapist or a Social Worker
  • Require a Post graduate Diploma or Master's degree and/or Postgraduate mental health qualification or equivalent in relevant discipline
  • NZ Registered in relevant professional discipline
  • Clinical experience in Child and Adolescent Mental Health
  • Require the provision of high quality evidence based clinical child and adolescent mental health assessments, therapies and interventions for children and adolescents and their families/whanau under the care of Starship medical and surgical services and complex pain team.
  • And the provision of liaison and consultation on specialist field of child mental health knowledge to paediatric health professionals and multidisciplinary teams in Starship Hospital, schools, agencies and patient groups as indicated.

You'll be a qualified Mental Health Clinician registered with the relevant board, and you will have an annual practicing certificate and at least 3 years relevant post graduate clinical experience in infant, child and adolescent Mental Health.
