About the role
These roles assist the sustainable management of natural and physical resources by providing a responsive and efficient service processing resource consents for Council.
With Gisborne in a boom state of housing and environmental development we need resource to join our well-established team, we are offering positions across multiple levels in the planning team.
You'll recognise the importance of the role as a Treaty partner and understand how that underpins Gisborne District Council's work.
Roles available:
- Principal Planner
- Regional & District
- Senior Planner District
Duty Planner
- District
Duties Include:
- Regional/District Plan Implementation
- Assist with development planning policies and strategies.
- Professional Advice
- Advise staff and public on resource management matters.
- Support/Administration
- Advise and support the Team Leader and Consent Manager
- Contribute to development and implementation of the Resource Consent sections work programmes.
Skills & experience
- Resource Management
- Sound knowledge of resource management legislation.
- Sound knowledge of resource management theory and best practice principles.
- Knowledge of the interaction between the Building Act, LGOIMA and the RMA.
- Basic knowledge of working in partnership with tangata whenua or at least a willingness to learn
