Mangakōtukutuku College is a new school dedicated to fostering a dynamic and inclusive learning environment. Key responsibilities

  • Contribute to the school's commitment to Te Tiriti o Waitangi
  • Develop and deliver engaging programmes of learning in collaboration with the learning area leader, learning facilitators and other teachers
  • Create a safe and inclusive classroom environment which supports the needs of individual learners and encourages their personal growth in the subject
  • Assess student progress and provide constructive feedback to promote continuous improvement
  • Stay current with trends and best practices within education, showing a willingness to learn.

Qualifications and attributes

  • Familiarity with the mathematics and statistics curriculum
  • Understanding of the Review of Achievement Standards and Te Mātaiaho
  • A teaching qualification with a specialisation or relevant experience in teaching maths
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • A commitment to fostering a positive and inclusive learning environment
  • Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage a class in a relational way
  • A passion for mentoring and guiding students
  • Willingness to participate in professional development opportunities related to the maths learning area and the wider school priorities.

Please note this position is suitable for both Primary and Secondary trained teachers.
