Ward 43 is an acute inpatient mental health assessment ward for people aged 65 years and over and is located in Tiaho Mai at Middlemore Hospital.

People present with a range of functional and / or organic problems and often have co-existing medical conditions. We work closely with the MHSOP community team aiming to deliver comprehensive and integrated care.


Ward 43 is a teaching environment and within this all staff work with student nurses, additionally there are at times allied health and medical students.

The ward also supports new graduate staff.


We are now looking for
NZ Registered Enrolled Nurses to work alongside our Registered Nurses to provide effective acute inpatient treatment which reflects recovery principles incorporating patient centred carer support whilst maintaining a safe environment.


This is a great opportunity to make a significant difference to the lives of people in the Counties Manukau area while developing your own personal and professional practice.


Essential:

  • NZ Registered Enrolled Nurse
  • Current Annual Practicing Certificate
  • Knowledge of mental illness & treatment interventions
  • Full and clean NZ Driver's licence
