About the role

Essential skills

  • Mechatronics/Electrical engineering degree or equivalent
  • 8+ years' industry experience
  • Experience automating high reliability systems
  • Experience implementing functional safety (IEC 61508 & IEC 61511)
  • Experience with commissioning, operation, and maintenance of fluids & mechanical systems
  • Experience leading complex engineering projects
  • Knowledge of instrumentation
  • Knowledge of low and high voltage AC & DC systems.
  • Handson experience with data acquisition, control, and automation systems
  • Ability to read, understand, and produce electrical schematics
  • Ability to work in fast paced, autonomously driven environment
  • Proven communication skills and the ability to build strong working relationships
  • Object Oriented PLC programming in Structured Text/Extended Structured text

Desired Skills

  • Experience with launch pad systems OR oil and gas, process, mining, or other similar industry. This role is not limited to those with prior launch system experience.
  • Experience with NI LabVIEW an asset
  • Experience with design and commissioning of functional safety systems
  • C/C++ development
  • Python
  • TeamCity
  • EPlan
  • Beckhoff PLC Programming
  • NI cRio controller programming
  • Perforce Version Control System
  • Gitlab/Git Version Control System
  • Experience with design of electrical systems for explosive atmosphere environments (AS/NZS/IEC 60079 or equivalent)
