Here is your opportunity to work with an innovative team in a rapidly growing teaching programme, and contribute to developing, planning and implementing learning experiences for students in violence and trauma studies. The position will be based at AUT's South Auckland campus but will require occasional across campus teaching.**The appointee's primary role will be to facilitate the delivery of post-graduate courses and in supervising postgraduate students. They will also contribute to research aligning with these programmes, and the strategic priorities of the broader school, and the Faculty of Health and Environmental Sciences at AUT University.


The appointee will have a relevant doctoral qualification with teaching experience at tertiary level in a field that is aligned with violence and trauma, conflict studies, structural and political violence, hauora Māori and/or Indigenous health.

The appointee will preferably have experience supervising postgraduate students and a track record of research and publications.


The appointee will embrace the vision and values of the school, faculty and university and commit to ongoing professional development supported by the AUT staff development programme while adhering to Te Tiriti o Waitangi, which is central to the mission and work of the University.


The successful applicant will:
- possess current knowledge and thinking relevant to violence and trauma studies.
- inspire and support postgraduate student achievement.
- contribute to ongoing curriculum development, where teaching is informed by community needs and research.
- demonstrate commitment to collaboration and working in a team to further enhance the community-teaching-research nexus.
- communicate effectively.
- have competent organisational skills.
