We are looking for people who are passionate about customer service and art to increase our pool of on-call casual staff.

This would include covering annual leave, events held in the evening and short notice to cover sick leave.


As a member of our front of house staff you will be responsible for providing a warm welcome and be well informed on all art related matters.


What you'll be doing:

  • Interact and engage with customers ensuring their needs are met
  • Work within a team and deliver knowledge and advice to customers
  • Commitment to maintain a high level of security and health and safety policies.
  • Achieve monthly sales targets
  • Day to day operational support of gallery and facility
  • Managing multiple tasks and keeping communication accurate and timely.

Built in 1919, the stunning Sarjeant Gallery Te Whare o Rehua Whanganui is one of New Zealand's oldest purpose-built galleries.

Now temporarily housed at Sarjeant on the Quay - 38 Taupo Quay, the Sarjeant is home to one of this country's most significant art collections and is unrivalled in the regions.


New Zealand Glassworks
New Zealand Glassworks (NZG), is the national centre for art glass located in Whanganui. The facility offers studio hire to established glass artists and the boarder community for workshops.

Additionally, it has a gallery showcasing leading glass artists from throughout New Zealand, making it a major attraction for local visitors and tourists alike.
