About the Role


We are looking for an experienced Senior Software Engineer to lead a team responsible for delivering innovative and high-quality software that meets Onside customers' needs.

Reporting to the Head of Technology, you will work closely with the technical team and the Product Owner to ensure timely delivery of new software and business impacts.

You will be responsible for contributing significantly to the design and architecture of Onside's software, staying on the cutting edge of technical improvements, and implementing them where appropriate.


Requirements:

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead a team working towards successfully delivering and releasing committed work items.
  • Analyse customer requirements deeply to ensure designs meet their needs.
  • Contribute to the development of Onside's software across all platforms.
  • Write top quality code that meets the standards set by the Head of Technology and wider development team.
  • Code review peers' code.
  • Consult with our customers to inform the design of solutions that meet the needs of our market.
  • Help diagnose and fix bugs identified by the Onside team, testers or customers.
  • Contribute to the maintenance and enhancement of Onside's technology.
  • Assist with DevOps processes and release management where required.
  • Provide guidance and mentorship to junior and intermediate members of the team.
  • Conduct quarterly reviews of direct reports to ensure standards are being upheld and to set expectations and goals for the future.

Experience you bring

  • Proven experience in a Software Engineering role
  • Broad knowledge of software development processes, including requirements analysis and Agile principles.
  • Deep technical experience developing with C#.NET, including Blazor and Xamarin/MAUI, SQL Server/databases, nUnit/xUnit/bUnit.
  • Full stack experience in both mobile and web development.
  • Familiarity with TeamCity, Octopus, AWS, Azure, Datadog.
  • Experience leading other engineers.
  • BEng/BSc in Computer Science or a related degree.
