All about the job

You'll lead and facilitate the daily operational management of our city's sportfields (natural & synthetic) and mowing throughout the city.

You will be also responsible for one of our key assets, looking after Porirua Park where we have regional, national and international events, concerts, fixtures and trainings.

You will be responsible for:
- providing effective leadership of staff members through coaching, mentoring and encouraging team members to achieve work targets
- ensuring operationally services are current best practice through continuous business improvement
- taking ownership of our key assets, ensuring a quality experience for all users
- building excellent working relationships across the business and with Clubs and RSO's
- financial forecasts and reporting and ensure work is completed within set budgets
- ensuring work undertaken complies with our District Plan and relevant acts and legislations

All about you
We are seeking an effective leader to manage our sportsfield and mowing teams. You will enjoy working closely with clubs and regulatory sports organisations so strong relationship management skills are essential.

You'll need to show us that you:

• have a strong desire to work with Community

- have proven experience in effective leadership and be exceptional at planning work for a big and busy team
- have a relevant qualification in sports turf management and sports turf management skills
- can lead and grow high performers within the team, enabling succession planning
- will build on our existing great team culture to enhance our reputation
- have strong and credible communication and relationship management skills
- put a customer focus at the heart of everything you do
- are a self-starter who can also work effectively as part of a team and contribute to the performance of the Parks Operations
- have a working knowledge of the Health and Safety at Work Act 2015
