Te Whatu Ora, Health New Zealand, leads the day-to-day running of our health system across New Zealand, with functions delivered at local, district, regional and national levels.

About Us:

The Canterbury Eye Service is friendly, helpful and very supportive. You will be supported to carry out research in the department.

Your salary and benefits will be aligned to the ASMS Senior Medical and Dental Officers Collective Agreement which means your experience will be recognised along with a very generous continuing medical education budget.


_ The Role_


Are you a skilled Consultant Ophthalmologist specialising in Oculoplastic surgery? Do you have a passion for providing exceptional patient care and contributing to the advancement of ophthalmic services? If so, we invite you to join our team at Christchurch Hospital, located in the vibrant city of Christchurch, New Zealand.


Key Responsibilities:

Provide expert consultation, diagnosis, and treatment for patients requiring oculoplastic interventions.
Perform a wide range of oculoplastic procedures, including eyelid surgery, orbital surgery, lacrimal surgery, and reconstructive surgery.
Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure comprehensive care for patients with complex oculoplastic conditions.

Ngā pūkenga me ngā wheako | Skills & Experience
Medical degree from a recognised institution.
Fellowship of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Ophthalmologists (FRANZCO) or equivalent qualification.
Specialist registration (or eligibility for registration) with the Medical Council of New Zealand.
Substantial experience in Oculoplastic surgery, including fellowship training or equivalent experience.
