About Te Whare Whakangungu team
Te Whare Whakangungu is our whare of training and development. We see ourselves as a Mātanga tāua and the whare is made up of both Clinical and cultural specialisits. Our main purpose is to contribute to the oranga tonutanga o Ngāi Māori and we do this by legitimizing, validating and empowering our knowledge as the health and wellbeing for all.


Who we are looking for
Te Whare Whakangungu is looking for an experienced mātauranga Māori specialist to join our whare.

This role requires:

  • Matatau ki Te Reo Māori me ngā tikanga
  • An experienced facilitator with the ability to deliver education via wānanga across the health and other sectors, both face to face and virtual
  • An experienced practitioner that has experience from the DHB and or NGO sector
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Ability to work across different teams
  • Ability to work independently and within a team
  • Excellent organizational and coordinator skills
  • Excellent administrative skills
  • Creativity
  • Ability to travel across the motu
  • Practices from a Te Ao Māori perspective and is guided and lead by Tikanga Māori
  • Ability to develop and maintain internal and external relationships with colleagues and key stakeholders
  • Good technology skills
