Te Whiwhinga mahi | The opportunity
We have an exciting opportunity for a Senior Conference Planner to join our Events Services team. In this role, you will be responsible for leading planning of large, complex, end to end academic conferences.

You will work closely with stakeholders to identify their goals, provide expert advice and develop event concepts and strategies to ensure events meet expectations.

Working collaboratively with other Event Planners you will oversee the delivery of multiple business style events and conferences, as well as delivering large, complex or high-profile events yourself.

This is a full-time (37.5 hours per week), permanent position.
The salary range is between $66, ,200 pa based on experience and qualifications.

On a day to day basis you will work closely with your stakeholders to ensure you develop relationships, and form a deep understanding of their culture and strategic objectives.


Reporting into Event Services you will also work collaboratively with a team of dedicated, innovative and proactive event professionals ensuring successful delivery of a wide variety of events across the university.


He kōrero mōu | About you
A minimum of 5 years' experience in a similar role is required and a tertiary qualification is preferred. You must have excellent stakeholder and time management skills, and have experience in all aspects of event management.

  • Strategic thinking and creative problemsolving ability
  • Strong stakeholder management skills
  • Excellent time management with the ability to manage multiple projects
  • Experience in delivering inperson, virtual and hybrid conferences.
  • Strong Event Management software (Events Air preferred) / technical skills (relevant to role)
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
