Liggins Institute Early Career Schizophrenia and Neurodevelopment Fellowship


We have an exciting opportunity for an early career researcher to join the Liggins Institute and develop into a future leader within the field of schizophrenia and neurodevelopment.


The Early Career Fellowship will provide 3 years' support for an outstanding early career scientist to enable them to initiate independent research, build new collaborations and develop the skills for a future career in this field.

The objectives of the Liggins Institute Early Career Schizophrenia and Neurodevelopment Fellowship are to foster the:

  • Initiation of an independent research programme at the Liggins Institute
  • Development of a research strategy, scientific writing and networking skills.


Assessment criteria will include the applicant's track-record, research proposal, and potential to develop as a future leader in the Liggins Institute and New Zealand.

This is a
full-time (40 hours per week),
fixed-term (up to 3 years) opportunity.
Remuneration is on the University of Auckland Research Fellow/Senior Research Fellow (SRF1-4) salary scale depend on qualifications and experience.

Qualifications:

To be successful in this role, you must have:

  • A Higher research degree (PhD, MD or equivalent)
  • Experience with Schizophrenia research
  • The ability to be selfmotivated and able to work effectively, engaging with nonmedical health professionals and supervising postgraduate students effectively.
