Do you have excellent coordination and organisation skills? Are you passionate about brand and marketing with a specialisation in graphic design? Are you keen about using your skills to help people connect with our environment and the important work the ministry is doing?
We are looking for a Coordinator - Brand & Experience to join our team and support the team with. You'll ideally have some experience in coordination or administration and a keen eye for detail.

You'll be an avid learner and willing to give it a go - this is a role where no two days will be the same.

You'll get to be involved in marketing, brand, sponsorships, channels and publications across various areas of the ministry.

An understanding or appreciation of brand management would be ideal to make sure the performance of the Ministry for the Environment brand grows and is positioned correctly and support staff across the Ministry to be advocates for the brand.

Your work will be diverse, and you will be involved in a variety of projects supporting the team to deliver so your coordination skills will be imperative.

A key part of your role will be working on our design and brand work - for both internal and external documents.

You'll need to be a solid all-rounder with a passion to help make New Zealand's environment flourish for every generation.

You will be part of busy team, so you'll be a self-starter with plenty of initiative.
This role sits within the Brand & Experience Team and reports to the Manager - Brand and Experience.

Our team is tasked with the following for MfE:

  • Brand development and management
  • Publications management
  • Design management
  • Events planning and coordination
  • Marketing and sponsorship management
  • Channels planning and implementation
Ngā pūkenga me ngā wheako | Skills and experience

  • A keenness to grow and develop their career in marketing and brand space think brand, publications, agency management, sponsorship, graphic design, events and channel management.
  • Tertiary level qualification in marketing and/or communicationsrelated disciplines. Recent graduates are welcome to apply.
  • Highlevel of competency in Microsoft Office suite of products is essential.
  • Competency in Adobe Creative suite of products is highly desirable.
  • A proactive and positive approach.
  • Commitment to developing your cultural capability and capacity in te ao Māori.
  • Administrative experience in a busy and complex work environment which demonstrates the ability to manage multiple functions/tasks to deadlines.
  • Knowledge of or the ability to develop a thorough understanding of, Ministry systems, processes and programmes.
  • Good written and oral communication skills with attention to detail.
  • The ability to operate in a small team, contributing wherever necessary to the performance of the Ministry.
  • The ability to deliver, make things happen, and meet deadlines, often under pressure from short timelines.
  • Good interpersonal skills and the ability to build and maintain good relationships with peers, internal clients, and external suppliers.
  • Understanding of government processes and procedures would be an advantage.
  • Someone who is happy with rolling their sleeves up and getting involved where they are needed.
Whānuitanga Utu ā-Tau | Salary range
Salary range for this role is $63,231 to $77,282 pa. Appointment within this range will be based on skills and experience.
