At He Whānau Manaaki Kindergartens, we have over 108 kindergartens across the regions we serve, bringing learning, connection, and fun to families across Whanganui, Central Plateau, Horowhenua, Kapiti, Porirua, Greater Wellington, Upper Hutt and Wairarapa.
We also provide a home-based service - Etu Ao in Porirua and Levin.

Community description
Raumati Kindergarten is a coastal town north of Wellington which sits strongly within its connections to mana whenua.
The coastal town has great facilities and services for the community such as schools, shops, sports and arts centres, and parks including Regional Parks and marine reserves.
The township is close-knit with many established families and due to its easily accessible transport networks; the town continues to grow and welcome new people.
The kindergarten is empowered and emersed in their local community, sustainability, and commitment to Te Tiriti o Waitangi programs through their Beach Program - Nga a haerenga ki tatahi, and their local community walks - Hikoi Iti programme.
The kindergarten is licenced for 42 children who attend for 6 hours each day. You will join our team of 4 other teachers.We are looking for an enthusiastic ECE leader who:
- can demonstrate an understanding of, and lead a team that responds to the unique status of tangata whenua in Aotearoa New Zealand. This includes continuing to sustain the strong links to iwi and whenua that the kindergarten has developed and is committed to the use of te reo Māori.
- can lead and collaborate with the learning community to continue innovative practices and pedagogy that support all learners and their home languages, while continuing to foster relationships with outside agencies.
- is an experienced leader who is confident in leading the team who have strong pedagogical practice with a lens of continued improvement.
