The Department of Critical Care Medicine has a fixed term part-time Ward Clerk position available to cover a Secondment Project for 4 months with the possibility of extending to 6 months if required.

This position is 0.71 FTE Monday - Wednesday

The role of ward clerk involves a high level of contact with families/whānau and healthcare professionals.

You will be responsible for the maintenance of patient's files, data entry for patient admission and discharges, and assisting with a variety of ward administration tasks.

This ward clerk role supports our medical staff with all clerical duties and the reception by being the first point of contact on the telephone, with visiting families and a variety of other hospital staff.

The ability to be flexible to cover team absences is also required.

To be successful in this role you will have proven clerical experience and a positive 'can do' attitude. You will bring your advanced computer skills and effective communication to be able to work well in the role.

Desired
Previous clerical experience or working in a healthcare environment is preferred. Prior knowledge and experience with in a medical setting and hospital computer systems is advantageous.
