Mō Tēnei Tūranga Mahi - About the Role


This is an exciting opportunity to join our team to contribute to health and wellbeing programme, underpinned by principles of social justice, bicultural practice, and empowering others to promote personal and social change.

The focus of this role will be teaching the NZ Certificate in Health & Wellbeing Level 4.


This role based in Christchurch, will ideally suit a person who has experience working in the wider Health & Wellbeing sector and who is committed to changing lives through opportunities brought about by education.

Prior teaching experience is desirable, although not essential. A learner focused approach to supporting students to achieve desired outcomes is essential. A degree in a related discipline is essential along with extensive experience as a health and/or wellbeing practitioner.

Ngā Pūkenga Me Ngā Wheako - Skills/Experience

  • A minimum two years' experience working in the Health & Wellbeing sector
  • Vision, innovation, and a commitment to facilitating own and others' learning.
  • Capable of supporting students to achieve their learning outcomes.
  • The ability to develop and implement flexible teaching and learning methods, including the suite of learning technologies
  • Flexibility to work in a range of courses throughout the Department
  • Time management skills, including the ability to effectively and efficiently administer, organise and coordinate activities and meet deadlines.
  • The ability to contribute to research outputs.
  • Engagement with assessment and feedback processes.
  • Teaching experience (if senior academic staff member)
  • Digital literacy including competence using a computer (including Microsoft office products)
  • Effective communication with a diverse range of others, at all levels within and outside the organisation
