Job tasks and responsibilities

  • Providing and maintaining safe environment for residents.
  • Individualized quality care to the residents and assist them to achieve the optimum level of wellbeing for each person under the direction and supervision of a Registered Nurse.
  • Assist in the provision of a high level of care meeting the standards required by the Clinical Service Manager and Facility Manager accordingly.
  • Demonstrate customer service and attention to detail while performing Caregiver duties for the facility at all times.
  • Ensure all equipment is used in accordance with relevant guidelines to minimize any potential damage at all times.
  • Ensure daily work schedule is completed.
  • Communicate with other team members effectively to ensure smooth delivery of service to residents.
  • Perform additional necessary duties as directed.

Skills and experience

  • You must have previous experience as a caregiver, preferable in rest home care, hospital level care, (respite care, dementia Care and palliative Care)
  • Level 3 or 4 NZ Health and Wellbeing qualification or equivalent.
  • Proven team member experience
  • Proven verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills, with ability to prioritise and organise effectively
  • Previous experience in the Aged Care industry preferred
