Marsh is seeking candidates for the following position based in the Dunedin, NZ office. This role is part of Dunedin based team and candidates located outside of Dunedin can be considered.

Risk Advisor

What can you expect?

This role is client-facing and provides an opportunity to further strengthen insurance knowledge and client servicing skills and growing their book of business. The position will include the self-servicing of small to mid-sized client accounts with a focus on Specialist Liability Lines such as Professional Indemnity, Cyber, Management Liability.  Clients are located across New Zealand and the role will include achieving goals around retention, expanded business as well as an Annual Growth target. On occasion the role will include the requirement to assist Senior Account Executives in various aspects of client service, technical support, and business development. Ensure the accurate, efficient, and timely production of all clients, insurer, and policy related documentation. Broader interactions with other practices ensuring instructions are conveyed correctly and actioned by the relevant parties.

We will count on you to:

  • Account and Team Management:
    • Responsible for the servicing of our NZ local businesses ensuring growth targets and service standards are met
    • Assist senior client executive with the development, implementation and management of risk management and insurance programs which accurately address client needs.
    • Develop and maintain effective long-term relationships with key client decision makers through regular communications, face to face or using technology solutions.
    • Development of additional business from their existing portfolios and with the acquisition of new business.
    • Apply Company strategies through the provision of new products which benefit the client.
    • Assist in the development and training of Support Brokers and Brokers by encouraging and developing their skills through on-the-job training, coaching regular performance feedback and external training

  • Administration & Technical
    • Complete negotiations with insurers.
    • Possess a good working knowledge of all aspects of the Insurance and other relevant legislation.
    • Ensure that accurate up to date records on all clients are always maintained using require systems.
    • Possess a thorough understanding of all major classes of insurance which the Company offers to its clients.
    • Comply fully with the Company's errors and omissions avoidance policy.
    • Adhere strictly to the Companyâs Quality Practices and other systems and procedures.
    • Other duties as may be required from time to time.

What you need to have: 

  • Professional Accreditation / Memberships (Either o he following):
    • Level 5 Qualification (or working towards achieving this by March 2023)
    • Associate membership of ANZIIF and Certified Insurance Professional (CIP)
