The National Tournament & Event Coordinator role will join our Baseball NZ team in a part-time capacity and work closely internally as well as alongside our baseball clubs and regional associations in delivering these tournaments and events throughout NZ.  Baseball NZ is seeking an experienced, high-energy, highly motivated, enthusiastic individual who has; excellent communication skills, the ability to deliver quality experiences, applies a professional approach, and a love of all things sport. 

Baseball experience is not a necessity, if you have experience and knowledge in the sports and/or events sector ideally in tournament and event management and delivery, then your transferrable skills can be applied to the baseball landscape.

It's an exciting time to get involved in baseball here in NZ, as a sport with growth on the horizon and new and exciting opportunities evolving.  With a new strategic plan in place, we are dedicated to growing the game of baseball here in NZ.  Delivering high-quality tournaments and events that provide enjoyable experiences for tamariki, rangatahi and pakeke are part of achieving this strategic vision and the ongoing development of baseball in NZ as we cater to all ages, stages and abilities, all genders, and ethnicities to love and enjoy this great game.

Ideal candidates will be able to demonstrate:

  • Experience in tournament and event delivery and management.
  • An alignment to community sport development. 
  • The ability to create, manage, and facilitate quality relationships.
  • An understanding for community, grassroots sports.
  • They are motivated, with a proven, high level of knowledge, understanding and capability in the sport sector and/or a keenness to learn.
  • Demonstrates strong planning, organisational skills, and project leadership, along with a high level of enthusiasm and energy to get the job done. 
  • An individual that is passionate about making a difference in a growing sport in NZ.

This part-time 16 hours per week (0.4FTE), position with a flexible working environment, will be diverse and gratifying, as part of Baseball New Zealand’s dynamic team, plus be connected across our Regional Associations and Club communities.
