About the Role: Due to a change in personal circumstances, we have an opportunity available for a strategic and business development driven leader to take on the most senior role within the Penske New Zealand business. The position of General Manager - New Zealand will report to the Managing Director based in Australia and will be a key member of the Executive Leadership team (Penske Australia & New Zealand) and also the NZ Leadership team. There is flexibility for this role to be based in any of our NZ branches; Auckland, Tauranga or Christchurch.

To be successful in the role, you will bring experience in one or more of our market segments. You will have demonstrated achievement in business improvement and efficiency initiatives and will have substantial experience in strategic planning and financial management within a multi-faceted business. You will be in your element leading a team of motivated Managers and ensuring our aftersales offerings are competitive and our customer satisfaction results are strong. You will have the confidence to seek out and develop new markets and to identify business development opportunities to support the business' strong future growth plans. In addition to this, you will offer a professional and engaging personality with proven experience managing a high-performing and astute team while positioning a business to succeed. Strong numeracy skills with the ability to analyse, forecast, budget and evaluate variances and make recommendations for improvements are also crucial skills we are looking for.

Key Responsibilities:

Elevate Penske's profile within the country by developing and actively cultivating strategic customer and industry relationships. Seek out and develop new markets and opportunities for the logical and profitable expansion of Penske in line with business plans. Oversee and participate in negotiations of major account contracts and activities. Promote a culture that reflects the Company's purpose and values and encourages and rewards high performance. Lead and develop Branch Managers and senior staff to ensure high levels of engagement and effectiveness in achieving the company's roadmap, and strategic and financial targets. Manage Health, Safety and Wellbeing in the workplace by promoting a safety-first culture.
